Beautiful, professionally decorated 4 year old log home nestled among the trees on 140 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near Tryon, NC. Close to shopping, gourmet dining, theater and incredible antiquing, yet still "away from it all". Sit on the porch and relax, stroll or horseback ride (stalls and pasture available for your horses) on our private trails, or take a short drive to waterfalls, nature preserves, or some of North Carolina's best trout fishing. Watch equestrian events at nearby FENCE or Harmon Field. Miles and miles of challenging or leisurely hiking trails are a short distance away. At the end of the day come back to relax in front of the woodstove, or gather round the fire pit for a marshmallow roast.

Plan a romantic get away for the two of you, or bring the whole gang for a family vacation or reunion. There's room to spread out - with almost 1000sq ft. of porches, a large great room w/ cathedral ceiling, sunroom and a kid's den stocked with toys, games and videos. For rainy days, there's the unfinished basement with room to run around or play ping pong. Watch cable TV, DVDs or use the high speed internet.

The first floor master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling and a private bath. The cottage sleeps a total of 12, with 3 additional bedrooms upstairs, a futon in the den, and a "fainting couch" in the sunroom This home is freshly painted and newly decorated with lots of comfortable antiques (the kind you can relax around and enjoy). Golf and tennis facilities are available nearby. Some of the country's best whitewater rafting is 1 1/2 hours away on the Nantahalla, Nolichucky, or French Broad Rivers. The Chattooga, site of the movie Deliverance, will challenge even the most adventurous. For the those with a tamer trip in mind - rafting or tubing on the Green river is a mere 30 minute drive. Lake Lure, 45 min. away, offers public beach swimming, boat rentals and a water park. Brush up on history at Biltmore House, Cowpens Battlefield, the Carl Sandburg home, Thomas Wolfe Memorial and Walnut Grove Plantation. Soak up culture at local art galleries, the Folk Art Center, Brevard Music Center and Flat Rock Playhouse. Visit Rockhouse Vineyards and sample their wines. Take the kids on an educational field trip to the Western NC Nature Center, the Schiele Museum, Roper Mountain science Center, The Cradle of Forestry, the Pisgah Fish Hatchery or the Greenville or Hollywild Zoos. Just for fun zip down the Davidson River at Sliding Rock.
