Appearances can sometimes be deceptive as the traditional facade of Meri's
House-thick stone walls, green shutters and pantiled roof set amongst
colourful flowering shrubs - does not prepare for the stylish interiors this
two-storey 'house within a house' contains.
Illuminated alcoves subtle modern lighting and attractive pieces of Italian furniture add warmth to the spacious open plan living space downstairs and a breakfast bar separates the well-equipped kitchen from the rest of the room. The kitchen is equipped with a dish washing machine, microwave oven and a large refrigerator-freezer. The bathroom on the bottom floor has a washing machine. A grey, marble-clad staircase leads up to the upper attic floor in the eaves which houses two double bedrooms, a bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub and a walk-in wardrobe room with plenty of space to store luggage. Air-conditioning both floors, digital satellite TV and a CD player are further modern touches to help ensure as comfortable a stay as possible. A sprawling pomegranate tree heralds the entrance to the apartment and
terrace, with only the fruit trees for company. A open grill is also
available for our guests. This quiet residential area offers a restaurant
and mini markets within easy walking distance. Dubrovnik's thick stone walls
and the beach are just 10 - minutes walk away making Apartment Meri a good
base from which to explore the Old Town's many charms. |
